Spicy levels
Weโre all about comfort, inclusion & working with your body at Roar. While all of our classes are welcoming, there are some which are more physically demanding than others.
Only you know your own body, so to help you decide which classes to come to, weโve designed a spiciness rating to show how physical the classes are.
ร - Not at all demanding. Suitable for complete newbies & those with no previous movement practise.
๐ถ - The class is suitable for all & includes postures which take a little physical effort.
๐ถ๐ถ - A mid level practise which deepens an understanding & application of foundational & mid level yoga postures such as sun salutations.
๐ถ๐ถ๐ถ - A challenging class which includes all yoga postures, with adaptations, support & options for those who arenโt completely confident yet.
๐ถ๐ถ๐ถ๐ถ - The peak of spice! This challenging class would be recommended for those with a minimum of 3 months practise & a level of comfort trying inversions such as pincha, headstand & handstand.

Medicinal Movement ร
This class is designed for those who are feeling burn out or with nervous systems on their last thread.
Join Kate for this movement for medicine class, where we move slowly & link slow mo movement to nourishing breath.
This is a practise that completely gives back & is designed for healing.
-
Restorative Yin/Yin Yoga ร
This practice targets the deepest tissues of the body, the connective tissues โ ligaments, joints, bones, the deep fascia networks of the body and the meridians. This is contrast to a Yang yoga practice such as Vinyasa yoga which targets the muscles. Yin yoga also enhances the energy flow to the organs.
The body needs a combination of active energising activities with a more restorative and healing practice to maintain health and vitality. Yin yoga helps bring this balance to a busy lifestyle offering wonderful emotional and mental health benefits by slowing down and finding stillness.
Yoga breathwork and deep breathing is emphasised to cleanse and restore the system. The result is a deep relaxation response within the body.
Throughout the practice we will use props such as bolsters, blocks and blankets which are all provided.
Appropriate for all abilities.

Postnatal Yoga ๐ถ
Sessions are designed to safely and gently rebuild your strength. Each week I'll take you through a different post natal sequence to help restore your energy levels and ease your body.
โClasses give you an opportunity to take some time to focus on your own emotional and physical wellbeing whilst bonding with your baby away from the business of day to day life.
-
Mindful Flow ๐ถ
An all levels Vinyasa flow that will awaken the body part by part. Weโll be moving at a gentler pace but you will be given plenty of different level options (take them or leave them, your choice!).
Bringing mindfulness to the equation, we will explore different breathing techniques (Pranayama) and meditation. You will be guided on a journey within yourself, to uncover and explore different layers of being - body, mind & spirit.
Along the way, you will be introduced to different concepts of traditional yoga philosophy, such as the energy of chakras, yoga sutras and 8 limbs of yoga.
You will leave the class feeling refreshed, grounded and ready to go about your day in a mindful way.

Yoga Foundations ๐ถ
Yoga is made up of many elements. There is the physical practice of asana (postures), this is often the part of yoga we are most familiar with in the West. There is also pranayama (breathing) and dhyana (meditation), among many other techniques that can guide us towards a present state.
These techniques along with philosophical teachings, form a strong foundation of self enquiry. This often can be the most beneficial part of our practice (not touching our toes, believe it or not!). Over time itโs something that can make a real difference in our lives.
Yoga isnโt one size fits all. We arenโt trying to force our bodies into a shape, but we are using the shapes to bring awareness to our bodies.
Postures will be broken down and explained, using props to deepen our understanding and add support.
Breathing techniques will be taught and repeated, offering them as a tool for yoga but also to gain understanding of our nervous system.
-
Slow Flow ๐ถ/๐ถ๐ถ
This class will ease you into your yoga practice slowly and steadily.
For those of you who are new to yoga or seasoned yogis that like to slow it down a little.
With flowing soft movements and breath work this class will make you feel as though youโve spent an hour at the spa rather than on your yoga mat!
-
Flow & Restore ๐ถ/๐ถ ๐ถ
The best of both worlds! The first half of the class builds heat and energy in the body by moving through poses vinyasa style. We then begin to slow and soothe the nervous system; gradually transitioning into holding poses for longer - using support from props to help us release and relax.
A great class for those wanting to get the heart pumping but also to leave feeling calm and restored.
-
Vinyasa Yoga ๐ถ๐ถ
A Vinyasa practise which pays particular attention to strength, specific to particular postures & alignment for a strong & secure practise.

-
Stretch & Flow ๐ถ๐ถ
This class is designed to deepen you into your flexibility in a very safe & supported way.
Every month, Megan will design a new sequence flow which will be focused on 1 main posture (peak posture) & this will be repeated for the month. This will give you the opportunity to work on your flexibility in a structured way, while still having the flow of a vinyasa style class.
Megan is passionate about functional mobility & is trained in Yoga for Sports, so will hold space for you in a practical way, while you're able to find your flow in linking the breath to the movement.
The class will end in a deep shavasana, to allow the mind & body to integrate in preparation for the next weeks' class.
-
Energising Vinyasa ๐ถ๐ถ
A strong Vinyasa practice for those who enjoy a challenge!
We start the class with a grounding breathing exercise, followed by a vinyasa style warm up, where we practice different variations of the sun salutation sequence.
Then, depending on the theme of the class, we focus on different area of the body, e.g. hips, shoulders, core. The aim is to build both the strength and flexibility.
You will be guided how to safely enter and exit the poses and instructed on the correct alignment. Once in the pose, you will explore the effect of the breath on the asana (yoga pose).
We finish the class with a good stretch to finally arrive in savasana - relaxation pose.
You will leave the class feeling alive and refreshed.

Ashtanga Vinyasa ๐ถ๐ถ๐ถ
Ashtanga inspired class - the heat building practice to challenge you physically.
A dynamic, set sequence of poses synchronised with breath, its aim is to perfect each one with regular practice.
We will be working through parts of the Primary Series.
Please note: This practice is not beginner friendly.
-
Mandala Vinyasa ๐ถ๐ถ๐ถ๐ถ
Mandala Vinyasa is an energetic and playful practice which embodies sacred geometry as we move 360 degrees around the mat, using breath to move intuitively through a repeated sequence of asanas. With each rotation, we add pulses and variations to take the body deeper into the practice.
Each class focuses on an element and a chakra. We follow the Mayan calendar to select a focus element: earth, water, fire, or air. We begin and end each class with yin postures to compliment the specific muscular groups that we activate during the flow.
This is a strong & energetic class that will require a high level of physical output, but surrendering to the patterns of movement will bring introspection and integration.
Please note: This practise is not beginner friendly.
